A Trip Across Mexico

On Wednesday, July 30, we ferried from Isla Mujeres to Cancun, rented a van, and headed out with our friends Patrick and Nancy Harrington (s/v Stolen Child) for a trip across Mexico.  We left the Mexican state of Yucatan and traveled in the southern highland states of Tabasco and Chiapas.  This is a tour for those who want to see the "other Mexico" and we did!  We traveled over 1500 miles through all sorts of terrain.... the coastline, mountain roads, jungles, and flatlands.

Eight days later, we returned to our little paradise at Isla Mujeres... road weary, but our lives more enriched.... having explored some authentic Mexican communities that are a world away from the touristy coast of Cancun.
